Jonathan (יְהוֹנָתָן / יוֹנָתָן "Whom the LORD gave", Standard Hebrew Yonatan/Yəhonatan, Tiberian Hebrew Yəhônāṯān) was the prince of the Kingdom of Israel, son of King Saul, and dearest of the subsequent King David (see Jonathan and David). He was flushed along by owning his father at a Battle of Mount Gilboa.
